Edward-Rhys Harry

EDWARD-RHYS HARRY was born and raised in Penclawdd, Wales and from a young age was an organist and conductor in chapels and churches. After graduating in composition and voice from the University of Wales Bangor, he went on to study Music Technology and Sound Recording, MMus Degree in composition from the London College of Music. He later left full time teaching to study Choral Conducting at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, Cardiff.

Edward is the Artistic Director of Côr Siambr Cymru/Chamber Choir Wales, ‘The Harry Ensemble’ . He is also the Musical Director of the London Welsh Male Voice Choir, Reading Festival Chorus, The Athenaeum Singers and the London Welsh Chorale. He is Associate Conductor of the British Sinfonietta.

Wedi ei eni a’i fagu ym Mhenclawdd, bu Edward yn organydd ac arweinydd mewn capeli ac egwlysi o oed cynnar iawn. Wedi graddio mewn cyfansoddi a llais o Brifysgol Cymru Bangor, aeth ymlaen i astudio Technoleg Cerdd a Recordio Sain, Gradd MMus mewn cyfansoddi o Goleg Cerdd Llundain. Yn hwyrach, fe adawodd gwaith dysgu llawn amser i astudio Arwain Corau yn Coleg Cerdd a Drama Caerdydd ble bu y Cymro cyntaf i dderbyn cymhwyster cydnabyddedig mewn Arwain Corawl.

Mae Edward yn Gyfarwyddwr artistic Côr Siambr Cymru, ‘The Harry Ensemble’, Arweinydd Côr Meibion Cymru Llundain, Reading Festival Chorus, The Athenaeum Singers, a’r London Welsh Chorale. Mae’n arwain y British Sinfonietta hefyd.
